Meet Lynn

Hi, I’m Lynn.

I’m a writer, second-chance seeker, woman of faith, and lifelong work in progress.

My life has never followed a straight line. There have been beautiful chapters and devastating ones, love and heartbreak, success and loss, addiction and recovery, jail and freedom, faith found later than I expected, and more than a few occasions when I had to figure out how to begin again.

For a long time, I thought rebuilding meant somehow getting back to the person I was before everything fell apart.

I don’t believe that anymore.

I think we carry the pieces forward. We learn. We change. We love again. We find new people, new work, new purposes, and sometimes an entirely new version of ourselves waiting on the other side.

That’s the odyssey.

🌿 The Life I’m Living Now

These days, my life is quieter, fuller, and much more intentional.

My Catholic faith has become an important part of how I live and serve. Recovery remains part of my story and something I never take for granted. I spend time with the people I love, serve in my church and community, write, work on projects that interest me, and try to be useful where I can.

I still have a professional side, too. After more than two decades working in payroll, human resources, administration, and related fields, I’ve found new ways to use those skills in my community; including bookkeeping, writing, and helping people put themselves back on paper when they’re trying to find work.

Those projects matter to me, but Inspired Odyssey isn’t my business website.

It’s my home.

It’s where the rest of me gets to live.

🌱 What I Believe

I believe in second chances because I’m living one.

I believe God can make something meaningful out of chapters we once wished we could erase.

I believe recovery is about far more than what we stop doing. It’s about what we slowly learn to build in its place.

I believe people are more complicated than the worst thing they’ve ever done.

I believe love can be beautiful, ridiculous, painful, surprising, and still worth believing in.

I believe there is holiness in ordinary things—in showing up, keeping your word, helping somebody, sitting with someone who needs company, laughing until your stomach hurts, starting over on a Tuesday morning, and trying again when yesterday didn’t go particularly well.

And I believe our stories deserve to be told truthfully, including the messy parts.

✨ Why Inspired Odyssey Exists

I created Inspired Odyssey in 2019 as a place to write through my life while I was living it.

That’s still what it is.

Some of what you’ll find here belongs to versions of me who lived years ago. Some posts were written through heartbreak. Others through hope, confusion, recovery, faith, love, anger, growth, or simply an ordinary day I wanted to remember.

I don’t want to erase those earlier versions of myself just because my life looks different now.

They’re part of the story.

Today, Inspired Odyssey continues to be part memoir, part reflection, part scrapbook, and part witness to what can happen when a life keeps going.

A journey of grace, grit, love, and starting again—in ink & stardust. ✨
